Week 17 together!!

We love cuddles!

This week was pretty good! Ciera had six shifts for work this week, which is the most she’s ever had! She was exhausted by the end of the week, and so was I (but then again, I always am). We relaxed a lot during the weekend, which is something we both needed… I always seem to work so hard :P.

On Tuesday, Ciera worked two different shifts. Both were in the CBD, so I got to see her for both lunch and after work! It was great. Seeing her after work means I get to spend even more time with her than usual! :). On Friday, I met Ciera after work, and we both went to Melbourne Central to meet up with a few of my friends from university. It was pretty much a little get-together. We had had one a few weeks ago as well, but Ciera didn’t want to come along to that one. This time, she did, and we all went to have dinner somewhere at Melbourne Central. I ate a delicious chicken parma, and Ciera had some (also delicious) penne with meatballs. My friends had some alcoholic drinks, but since Ciera and I don’t drink alcohol, we decided on some other drinks. Ciera had a strawberry smoothie and I had a Coca Cola. All in all, the night was pretty good :)

Saturday was pretty awesome. We had a rather lazy day, but remembered that Sonic The Hedgehog 4 had been released! We went onto Wiiware on our Wii, paid for and downloaded the game, and tried it out. It’s pretty awesome! Not as good as the older Sonic games though. We ended up just spending the day playing it as well as the older Sonic games, in emulators. Today’s Sunday, which has been a pretty lazy day too. We played some more games, and at the moment, I’m writing this blog post while Ciera plays yet more games xD. We were going to look more into the Partner Visa stuff, but haven’t done that yet. We’ll have to eventually though. It’ll be kinda fun. :)

Until next time (that’s my sign-off line, not Ciera’s!),

Week 15 together

We are so in love <3

Another amazing week together! Every day we’re together is a great day, and every week we have great fun, and this week was no exception (of course).

Not really related to me and Ciera, but on Wednesday, I had to go to work early. I work at a software development company, and our system is hosted on the Internet. Whenever new development work is going out to beta, the developers responsible for the work have to be there at 7 AM to help with deployment. This is so any bugs/issues can be worked out before people start their business day. Most of the time things are fine, and this day was no exception. The great thing about starting work two hours earlier is finishing two hours earlier. I also didn’t take lunch break (which is usually an hour), so actually finished three hours earlier than usual. After work, Ciera and I went off to K-Mart since they were having a DVD sale. We bought Land Before Time 1 2 and 3, Milo and Otis, I Am Sam, and Fern Gully. Each of these was only $9, which was great.

On Thursday, Ciera was working in the afternoon, and so she could meet me at work once I had finished. When we met up, we were going to go to a different restaurant along Lygon Street, but couldn’t really choose any, so we went to Papa Gino’s again. […]

Week 13 together – Melbourne Show!

We had such a great time celebrating our second year of friendship!

This week was awesome! Well, actually, I can’t remember too much about what happened during the week, but the weekend was great! We went to the Melbourne Show, moved stuff from two rooms into one room, and made some lasagna. This week, we were celebrating our “friendiversary” – Ciera and I have now known each other for two amazing years! :)

Last year, when Ciera was here (she was going back to the USA around this time last year :(), we went to the Melbourne Show, which is a fair/carnival thing that happens here in Melbourne  every year.  We went with my sister Jacinta and her friend Betty, and enjoyed it heaps. This year was no different – On Saturday, Ciera and I went to the Melbourne Show together. There was HEAPS of animals this year, a lot more than last year! Including some cute little piglets, and massive cows, and a whole range of other ones. […]

Week 11 together!

We're awesomely cute!

Wow, the time goes so quickly when you’re having lots of fun! It’s week 11 already :o. This week was pretty good. Ciera was having some issues at work, with payroll not recording her bank details correctly. She got that fixed this week and finally got paid for the first time on Wednesday. I think it’s pretty good that she’s finally made some money of her own here in Australia. She went shopping on Friday and spent some of the money buying some new awesome stuff.

Saturday, we weren’t entirely sure what to do. Ciera thought that I needed new shoes… They’re old and broken and have holes in them but I still liked them :(. Anyways, we ended up going to DFO at South Wharf (near Docklands) to try and find some shoes. The directions the Metlink site gave us were kinda wrong and we ended up getting lost for a bit. Lucky for us, I had Google Maps installed on my phone, and we checked that to find some proper directions. We finally found the place, and now I have new shiny shoes. I’m still kinda incredibly jealous of the shoes with flashing lights that kids have – I wish they made adult versions of those! :(.  […]

Week 9 together – Ciera gets a job

Cute picture of us.

Wow, week 9 already! The weeks seem to go so quickly when you’re having fun :)! This week, Ciera had her Myki training on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. By the end of Thursday, she found out that she had gotten the job! I’m so proud of her, and glad that she’s finally found a job in Australia :). Her first shift is this Friday, really really early in the morning (6:30 AM).

Friday, when I finished work for the day, we went to Papa Gino’s for dinner (yes, again). This time, we got some different food than last time (I got lasagna, and Ciera got ravioli), and it was quite delicious. I’d recommend going there to anyone looking for good Italian food! On Saturday, we went into the city to go to Lord of the Fries for lunch, and to see a Tim Burton exhibition at ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image). […]

Week 7 together

Smile :D

This week, like every week, has been pretty good! Ciera wanted me to start writing blog posts instead of her doing them all the time, so I thought I should write this week’s post :P. This week has been pretty relaxing, we didn’t really do too much. It’s good to relax every so often :)

On Wednesday, I had to go to work early (7am!) which was quite hard but I managed to do it. Because I started two hours earlier than normal (my hours are normally 9 AM to 5:30 PM), I also finished two hours earlier. Ciera met me at work, and we went to Lord of the Fries for ‘lunch’, and then went to Northland Shopping Centre, where we spent the rest of the day looking at beds and other furniture (Ciera wants a new bed, they’re quite expensive though!). Saw some nice furniture that we’ll have in our own house one day! 😀

Ciera’s been continuing to look for jobs. We’ve gotten relatively desperate about looking for jobs, so much that we’ve even applied to McDonalds. […]

My life with Ciera so far

This was originally posted to Daniel’s blog on 18th July 2010.

So as you’d already know, Ciera came back to Australia three weeks ago, which is why I haven’t really been on messenger much recently :P. Things have been excellent so far, it’s been really enjoyable. Last week, we made some delicious rainbow cookies. They were pretty much just plain lemon cookies based on a recipe from a $4 book we bought at Go-Lo, WITH A DIFFERENCE! We made them awesome by colouring them all different colours (and even made some multi-colour, which was my idea :D). They were delicious and colourful and made with 100% awesomesauce. Next time we make some, we’ll make them all rainbow I think xD.

Yesterday (Saturday), we went to Scienceworks, which is a science museum here in Melbourne. Well, we got there eventually. We had a few minor issues along the way. Firstly, we got off at Parliament Train Station (as the Metlink journey planner said to), and the platform that the train we needed usually comes to was closed, and there was a notice to go to Southern Cross Station. So, we went back to the platform we came from, and caught another train to Southern Cross. When we got to Southern Cross, the train took aaaages to come (then again, it’s the Weribee line so it’s kinda expected I guess :P). And then there was another complication — The train terminated at Footscray and we had to take a replacement bus the rest of the way. However, once we caught that bus, we finally got there. Entry is free if you’re a student, so that’s definitely a bonus. […]

The story of a Long Distance Relationship

This was originally posted to Daniel’s blog on 3rd December 2009

Well, I haven’t blogged for a while (seems to happen to me quite often). I was pretty busy with university work, exams, arranging a work placement for next year for IBL, and other stuff. I get my exam results in about one and a half weeks, hopefully I did alright on them. We’ll see I guess…

Many of you know about my girlfriend. If not, her name is Ciera, and she’s absolutely amazing :D. We met online on MySpace (haha) towards the end of September 2008. I had broken up with my ex-girlfriend after a short and hopeless relationship in August 2008. I was rather upset after my ex broke up with me (to be honest, I really have no idea why, looking back at it now), and was just looking for people to talk to, to make me feel better. I was browsing MySpace one of those days, and was looking through Tom‘s (you know, the guy with the pretend friends) blog, where Ciera had posted a comment on one of the posts. There was something about her in particular (the way she wrote? Her picture? I really don’t know) that made me click on her and take a look at her profile. Now, I don’t know why this happened (even today, neither me nor her know why things happened the way they did), but I’m glad it did. Reading her profile made me realise that we had so much in common! I sent a friend request right away, wondering if she’d accept and become my friend. I really wanted to get to know her more. […]
