Soon, my love, we’ll be together again!

Daniel and I have been apart for five months. We’ve made it again! I’ll be leaving in just under a week to be with him for however long I want. I’m a resident now! I have the ability to be in Australia forever if I so please! To be quite honest though, it’s really quite scary. I’m leaving all of my family and most of my friends. There’s not set time for when I’ll be back. Heh! Kind of funny I still have that LDR feeling except it’s with more than one person now. I really am excited, though! I’m looking forward to moving out with Daniel. Having our own place, doing our own thing. Supporting ourselves. We’re going to be able to do it! Together! Something we’ve waited for, for so long. I’m also really excited to see my friends in Melbourne again, and hopefully make new ones! It’s going to be great!

Thanks to everyone who has supported us through our journey!

Until next time,
-Ciera

Week 28!

I don’t feel like blogging today, sorry guys. I’ll just briefly touch on what we’ve been doing, okay? Just to keep you guys up to date. :)

Daniel didn’t have work on Monday, because it was a public holiday, so we spent the day together. It’s been so good having extra time together. We went to Northland AGAIN. This time we went because I wanted a body pillow. NEEDED a body pillow. We found one for $9 at K-Mart and then got some nice, soft purple fabric from Lincraft so I could make a pillowcase for it. It turned out really nice. :) We had Lord of the Fries for lunch. Daniel loves that place and we always seem to get coupons for it.

Tuseday through Friday is all in a jumble to me. Daniel had work the rest of the week, of course. He’s a working man. I remember being really depressed for a few days. I think the main cause was me being homesick and not having a job added to it. I feel so useless when I have nothing to do during the day.  One night we ordered a Flip Mino (video camera) and scales (so we can tell how fat we are) from catchoftheday.com.au. They arrived on Thursday and we’ve been having fun with them since. We were considering on doing a vlog (video blog) today instead of typing something out but Daniel thought it’d take too much time to get ready. Next week, you might be lucky and get to see a vlog! Friday wasn’t very exciting either. Daniel had work. He got out earlier than usual but missed the early bus so he got home at the usual time. 😛

We made a trip to Costco on Saturday with Silvia, Daniel’s mum. It was crazy trying to catch all the busses. We had to run for at least two because we were slowpokes or just didn’t know what we were doing. 😛 After Costco, we stopped at K-Mart to get some more shorts and look for things we need to bring on our holiday. We only found the shorts but that was good enough for us. :) I’ve finally gotten Daniel to wear something other than jeans! Haha! I just started wearing things other than jeans too… *shifty eyes*. At night, I got to talk to one of my best friends, Luci. We talked about soooo much and were on the phone for two hours. It was so good to hear from her. I need to make sure we talk on the phone more.

Today we slept in until 11:30 this morning. We both have been needing it although it doesn’t feel like it helped me much now. I’ve only been awake for 6 hours and I’m tired. :( We were trying to decide if we wanted to go out when Andrea (one of my friends in America) reminded me that I was going to webcam with her and Josh (another friend from America). Daniel and I played Mario while I was waiting for Andrea and Josh to get ready. I ended up talking to them on webcam for at least and hour and a half. There was a lot of laughing, which I definitely needed. I miss hanging out with them and laughing that much. Those were some really good days.

That’s it for now, guys. I’m sorry I’m slacking. I just can’t be bothered with a picture or typing much this week. I might update this post later so keep your eyes peeled. :)

Until next time 😀
-Ciera

P.S.  There may not be a blog on the Sunday after this next one coming up. Daniel and I will be leaving for a trip to the Gold Coast the next day so we might be too busy with packing. I’m going to try to get some clips of our trip on camera so I hope that makes up for it :)

Week 26 – The real half-way point and CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas!

As you can tell by the title, this week was the actual half-way point. 😉 We were counting months by four weeks but, since a year has 52 weeks, we messed it up a little. 26 weeks = half a year… blahblahblah. You get the point!

On Tuesday of this week, the business Daniel works at (PageUp People) had a Christmas party. His manager insisted that he go and even offered to pay for me to join. We accepted the offer and ended up having a great time! It was held at Richmond Union Bowling Club, a place to play lawn bowls. The party started with drinks and food (mostly BBQ). It later moved out to the lawn where we bowled… simple enough xD. It was great to meet all the people Daniel works with. I know some people were excited to meet me, too.

Nothing else happened during thing week until Friday. I got some bad news that day and Daniel got to get off work early!  I got a text during the day from work. They were informing me and my coworkers that there wouldn’t be any available shifts until AFTER 31 January. The break was originally supposed to be two weeks. […]

Week 25 – Nearly Christmas!

Ciera after her hair being dyed.

This week was quite good. Ciera and I had a lot going on. On Monday, Ciera had two shifts at work, which was pretty draining for her :P. Since it’s nearly Christmas, Ciera doesn’t have any shifts at work for two weeks, and I have a few days off. More time together, woot!

On Thursday, I had to do a presentation about my work placement, to my manager at work, as well as the supervisor for the placement (a person from my university). I was very worried, but I think it went alright. I’m always really scared of presentations; I hate them heaps. I guess I just dislike presenting stuff, and public speaking. In any case, my manager said it went very well, so I’m quite happy about that. Now I just need to worry about writing the final report!

On Friday, Ciera had her last shift for the year. Since she was working until 7 PM, I told her that I’d go straight from work to home, and meet her there. However, I didn’t actually do that, and surprised her at work instead. Bought her a delicious blueberry muffin too. She was very surprised and I’m sure she appreciated it. Seriously, when you have a blueberry muffin, what could possibly go wrong?! It makes life more awesome. […]

Half-way point! (6 months)

We love our boy <3

The past 6 months have gone by sooooo quickly! Daniel and I don’t really pay attention to what week or month it is until we start working on these posts, so we got really excited when I realized it’s been 6 months!! It’s hard to believe in another half a year, we’ll be on our way to America.

Anyways, This week has been like all the others… for Daniel at least. He’s been very focused on work and getting his presentation done (due this Thursday). He also has a two week project that he’s busy doing at the same time. Busy, busy man. 😛 Work for me this week SUCKED. It’s been the past few weeks, actually. I’m really getting tired of the company I’m with but I’m going to stick with them until I HAVE to quit. They’ve been taking shifts away the day before I do them and switching the times from what I’m used to. It’s just getting annoying. I plan on finding a nice data entry or filing job very soon! :)

Daniel and I met up only a few times during the week. Tuesday, Daniel met me after work at a train station in one of the inner suburbs (Camberwell). Thursday, I met him after work. I believe we took some extra time to get home, probably looking for bike helmets both times. On Friday, I was supposed to work but they called me on Thursday saying my shift wasn’t supposed to exist and then hung up… *ANGRY FACE*. […]

Week 23 together!

Being awesome waiting for a bus.

This week has been pretty amazing, much like all the other weeks. The only bad thing was that Ciera was feeling sick for most of the week :(. This post will be pretty short, I’ve got heaps to do so don’t have much time to write up a blog post :(

On Monday, Ciera had work during the day. She came into the city early so I got to see her both during lunch, and after I finished work, which was pretty awesome :). On Wednesday, it was deployment day at work again, so I had to be there at 7am.  This meant I finished early, so I got to see Ciera earlier than normal, and spend more time with her!

On Saturday, we both went Christmas shopping together. We didn’t buy too much, it was more to take a look around and see if we could find any awesome things.  Ciera found some pretty cheap and good clothes at K-Mart so she bought them for herself. On Sunday, we did similar things, except I knew what Ciera wanted! She wanted a bike, so we went to K-Mart and got one. Luckily I bumped into my dad at K-Mart, so he was able to give us a lift home (otherwise we would have had to carry a big box on public transport!). We nearly finished assembling the bike but then realised we need a bigger wrench to finish it off. We did buy tools, but only a small wrench. So Ciera’s going to buy a large wrench tomorrow so we can finish putting it all together.

Until next time,
— Daniel

Week 21 together!

Us being cute :)

21 weeks together! Such an amazing milestone for both of us :).  I don’t have much to tell for this week, as I can’t remember a lot of what happened because I was sick for a lot of it :(

I was feeling a bit sick this week, which was bad :(. I was meant to go in to work early on Wednesday, but I slept in through my alarm, only to be woken by a text from my team leader asking where I was. I still felt bad, but replied saying I slept in due to feeling sick and would go in anyways. I ended up getting to work a little earlier than I normally would. I got worse during the day, so went home a bit early, and stayed home the next day (Thursday).

On Saturday, Ciera wanted to go to a rally in the city, promoting marriage equality for gay couples. We were going to go into the city anyways so we went. It was pretty fun – Some good speakers at the rally, and it was fun walking down the street in a large crowd xD. We also went to get the Toy Story 1+2+3 collection on DVD. A store called Big W advertised it for $34ish, but they didn’t have any in stock. We took their catalogue and went to another store called JB Hi-Fi to try and get them to match the price Big W had the DVD at. They said the ad was actually a mistake by Big W and they can’t match it (which seems to be true, from the Google searching I did afterwards). We ended up buying the DVD from JB Hi-Fi even if it was more expensive. Now we finally have the entire Toy Story collection on DVD :D. I guess we should get a Blu-Ray player one day too, huh? 😛

Today (Sunday) was Joshua’s First Communion, which is a Catholic… thingy. He had a mass at 9 AM and a party at 3 PM. I didn’t go to the mass because I was doing some awesome stuff (otherwise known as sleeping), but I did go to the party. There was a lot of people there, mainly relatives and other family friends. Some nice food too. It was alright :)

Until next week,
— Daniel

Week 18 together!

We both have beautiful blue eyes :)

Get ready for a long post! A lot happened with us this week.

Monday was mostly a normal day. Daniel and I had work in the morning so we were both out of the house. When I got home from work (around 2:30 pm, I think), Daniel’s mum informed me that Louie had been missing since 12:30 pm. This is where the day became… not so normal. I was pretty calm about for the first hour or so but the longer he was gone, the more emotions I felt. I started getting really worried (about Louie) and annoyed (with Daniel’s mum). Louie’s last owner let us know that he gets stuck in trees so I walked around the neighbourhood looking in all the trees. We didn’t have any luck finding him during the day so when Daniel got home, we posted a lost cat article on a website called petfinders (he’s now on the “successes” page :D).  That night was really hard for me. I cried all night because I was so worried. :(

Tuesday was a whole lot better! 😉 I had work in the morning again but when I got home, I printed off some lost cat posters and taped them up around the area. While I was doing that I also kept looking around for him. I also called the lost dogs home just in case someone took him there. They hadn’t seen him but they told me to come past in a few days if he doesn’t come home. Luckily, he did! […]

Week 14 together!

Our shadows

It’s been another week! This week has been one of the less active ones, though. Daniel and I really didn’t do much during the week except work and being lazy. We did manage to get some important things done and enjoy time with each other.

On Wednesday, Louie had to go to the vet. It was time for him to get vaccines, microchipped and desexed. I took the day off so I’d be able to transport him to and from the vet. That probably wasn’t the best idea. The whole day I was so worried about Louie and I didn’t have Daniel to cheer me up because he was busy at work! Louie ended up having a great visit and was acting like himself as soon as we got him home!

We had a semi-laid back weekend. On Saturday, we spent the first half of the day just laying around and exploring the internets. The second half was spent on a trip to IKEA and K-Mart for some clothes racks so we could […]

Week 10 together – Ciera’s first day!

Eating at Phamish after a visit to St. Kilda.

This week really wasn’t too eventful for us. Daniel worked all week and I was home all week until Thursday when I saw Daniel for lunch.

As mentioned in the title, I had my first day of work this Friday. All week I was dealing with first day jitters and all the anxiety piled up. Thursday night ended up being a bad night for both of us. I was feeling really homesick and wanting the comfort of the bed I was so used to just a couple months back. While explaining it to Daniel, we both started crying. I hate seeing him cry… He loves me so much and was worried I wanted to go home and leave him here alone, again. :( I would never, ever do that unless I absolutely had to. For instance, my visa expires and he can’t leave with me. I just wanted to share a bad moment we’ve had. Our relationship isn’t perfect but we deal with things because we are determined to be together forever.

The first day of work was nothing to worry about, but I can’t help to get the jitters :P. I had to wake up at 4:30 am to get to Melb. Central Train Station (where I worked) by 6:30. I wasn’t able to sleep that night but somehow managed to stay awake through the shift and the rest of the day. […]
