Soon, my love, we’ll be together again!

Daniel and I have been apart for five months. We’ve made it again! I’ll be leaving in just under a week to be with him for however long I want. I’m a resident now! I have the ability to be in Australia forever if I so please! To be quite honest though, it’s really quite scary. I’m leaving all of my family and most of my friends. There’s not set time for when I’ll be back. Heh! Kind of funny I still have that LDR feeling except it’s with more than one person now. I really am excited, though! I’m looking forward to moving out with Daniel. Having our own place, doing our own thing. Supporting ourselves. We’re going to be able to do it! Together! Something we’ve waited for, for so long. I’m also really excited to see my friends in Melbourne again, and hopefully make new ones! It’s going to be great!

Thanks to everyone who has supported us through our journey!

Until next time,
-Ciera

My trip to the USA

In June, it was time for Ciera to go back to the USA, as her working holiday visa was expiring. This was a pretty convenient time for me, as I was on my winter break from university which meant I could go with her. This was the first time I had been out of Australia so it was all pretty exciting.

Anaheim – Disneyland, Medieval Times

The first stop on this trip was in Anaheim California. During our time here, we stayed at the Carousel Inn. It was in a great location, right across the street from Disneyland and California Adventures. The hotel had a rooftop pool which was great at night when the fireworks in Disneyland were going off. You could also see all the key parts of both parks from there. Cieraโ€™s friend Luci and her boyfriend Sterling were also in Anaheim at the same time as us. They were staying at a different hotel for a few days, but joined us and stayed at the same hotel as us a little later on the trip, on the days we visited the Disney parks. […]

Our Gold Coast Vacation/Holiday!

OH MY GOSH GUYS! I’m sorry it’s been so long. I have no legitimate excuses for it but Daniel does. He’s been super busy with Uni and work. I’ve just been busy keeping myself mentally healthy. I guess that is kind of a big deal, huh? Anyways, I’m sure you guys would love to hear about the trip we took to the Gold Coast. Even if it was… 4 months ago! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I got some footage of everything but I don’t know how to video edit and the clips I took aren’t that great just by themselves. We did upload a whole bunch of photos though, which can be found in our photo gallery.

On the airplane.

It was Daniel’s first time out of Victoria and on a plane so he was really excited (and super cute to watch!!). The flight there was alright. It got a lot better when we were getting close to landing. If you looked out the window you could see the ocean and the shore line. We were lucky that no one sat close to us so Daniel and I scooted over one seat to look out. It was beautiful! […]

Week 28!

I don’t feel like blogging today, sorry guys. I’ll just briefly touch on what we’ve been doing, okay? Just to keep you guys up to date. :)

Daniel didn’t have work on Monday, because it was a public holiday, so we spent the day together. It’s been so good having extra time together. We went to Northland AGAIN. This time we went because I wanted a body pillow. NEEDED a body pillow. We found one for $9 at K-Mart and then got some nice, soft purple fabric from Lincraft so I could make a pillowcase for it. It turned out really nice. :) We had Lord of the Fries for lunch. Daniel loves that place and we always seem to get coupons for it.

Tuseday through Friday is all in a jumble to me. Daniel had work the rest of the week, of course. He’s a working man. I remember being really depressed for a few days. I think the main cause was me being homesick and not having a job added to it. I feel so useless when I have nothing to do during the day. ย One night we ordered a Flip Mino (video camera) and scales (so we can tell how fat we are) from catchoftheday.com.au. They arrived on Thursday and we’ve been having fun with them since. We were considering on doing a vlog (video blog) today instead of typing something out but Daniel thought it’d take too much time to get ready. Next week, you might be lucky and get to see a vlog! Friday wasn’t very exciting either. Daniel had work. He got out earlier than usual but missed the early bus so he got home at the usual time. ๐Ÿ˜›

We made a trip to Costco on Saturday with Silvia, Daniel’s mum. It was crazy trying to catch all the busses. We had to run for at least two because we were slowpokes or just didn’t know what we were doing. ๐Ÿ˜› After Costco, we stopped at K-Mart to get some more shorts and look for things we need to bring on our holiday. We only found the shorts but that was good enough for us. :) I’ve finally gotten Daniel to wear something other than jeans! Haha! I just started wearing things other than jeans too… *shifty eyes*. At night, I got to talk to one of my best friends, Luci. We talked about soooo much and were on the phone for two hours. It was so good to hear from her. I need to make sure we talk on the phone more.

Today we slept in until 11:30 this morning. We both have been needing it although it doesn’t feel like it helped me much now. I’ve only been awake for 6 hours and I’m tired. :( We were trying to decide if we wanted to go out when Andrea (one of my friends in America) reminded me that I was going to webcam with her and Josh (another friend from America). Daniel and I played Mario while I was waiting for Andrea and Josh to get ready. I ended up talking to them on webcam for at least and hour and a half. There was a lot of laughing, which I definitely needed. I miss hanging out with them and laughing that much. Those were some really good days.

That’s it for now, guys. I’m sorry I’m slacking. I just can’t be bothered with a picture or typing much this week. I might update this post later so keep your eyes peeled. :)

Until next time ๐Ÿ˜€
-Ciera

P.S. ย There may not be a blog on the Sunday after this next one coming up. Daniel and I will be leaving for a trip to the Gold Coast the next day so we might be too busy with packing. I’m going to try to get some clips of our trip on camera so I hope that makes up for it :)

Week 26 – The real half-way point and CHRISTMAS!

Merry Christmas!

As you can tell by the title, this week was the actual half-way point. ๐Ÿ˜‰ We were counting months by four weeks but, since a year has 52 weeks, we messed it up a little. 26 weeks = half a year… blahblahblah. You get the point!

On Tuesday of this week, the business Daniel works at (PageUp People) had a Christmas party. His manager insisted that he go and even offered to pay for me to join. We accepted the offer and ended up having a great time! It was held at Richmond Union Bowling Club, a place to play lawn bowls. The party started with drinks and food (mostly BBQ). It later moved out to the lawn where we bowled… simple enough xD. It was great to meet all the people Daniel works with. I know some people were excited to meet me, too.

Nothing else happened during thing week until Friday. I got some bad news that day and Daniel got to get off work early! ย I got a text during the day from work. They were informing me and my coworkers that there wouldn’t be any available shifts until AFTER 31 January. The break was originally supposed to be two weeks. […]

Week 25 – Nearly Christmas!

Ciera after her hair being dyed.

This week was quite good. Ciera and I had a lot going on. On Monday, Ciera had two shifts at work, which was pretty draining for her :P. Since it’s nearly Christmas, Ciera doesn’t have any shifts at work for two weeks, and I have a few days off. More time together, woot!

On Thursday, I had to do a presentation about my work placement, to my manager at work, as well as the supervisor for the placement (a person from my university). I was very worried, but I think it went alright. I’m always really scared of presentations; I hate them heaps. I guess I just dislike presenting stuff, and public speaking. In any case, my manager said it went very well, so I’m quite happy about that. Now I just need to worry about writing the final report!

On Friday, Ciera had her last shift for the year. Since she was working until 7 PM, I told her that I’d go straight from work to home, and meet her there. However, I didn’t actually do that, and surprised her at work instead. Bought her a delicious blueberry muffin too. She was very surprised and I’m sure she appreciated it. Seriously, when you have a blueberry muffin, what could possibly go wrong?! It makes life more awesome. […]

Half-way point! (6 months)

We love our boy <3

The past 6 months have gone by sooooo quickly! Daniel and I don’t really pay attention to what week or month it is until we start working on these posts, so we got really excited when I realized it’s been 6 months!! It’s hard to believe in another half a year, we’ll be on our way to America.

Anyways, This week has been like all the others… for Daniel at least. He’s been very focused on work and getting his presentation done (due this Thursday). He also has a two week project that he’s busy doing at the same time. Busy, busy man. ๐Ÿ˜› Work for me this week SUCKED. It’s been the past few weeks, actually. I’m really getting tired of the company I’m with but I’m going to stick with them until I HAVE to quit. They’ve been taking shifts away the day before I do them and switching the times from what I’m used to. It’s just getting annoying. I plan on finding a nice data entry or filing job very soon! :)

Daniel and I met up only a few times during the week. Tuesday, Daniel met me after work at a train station in one of the inner suburbs (Camberwell). Thursday, I met him after work. I believe we took some extra time to get home, probably looking for bike helmets both times. On Friday, I was supposed to work but they called me on Thursday saying my shift wasn’t supposed to exist and then hung up… *ANGRY FACE*. […]

Week 22 together!

I didn’t manage to get a picture of us this week so you get to enjoy a cute picture of Louie… sleeping… like a cat does.

Voting makes Louie sleepy.

Would you be amazed if I told you this week has been similar to a lot of others? Haha! Once again, not much happened during the week but we did do things during the weekend.

We both worked most of the week and I don’t think we met up with each other during the day until Friday. This week seemed to go really slow for me and Daniel was very busy with work all week so we decided we’d have a dinner date Friday night. We went to Papa Gino’s again and it was delicious as always. This time we shared some fettuccine carbonara and a meat lovers pizza.

Saturday was a fun day for us. Daniel went to vote in the morning and then we inspected a house that was just two doors down xD. Daniel and I always talk about having our own place but we’re waiting until I’m at least a resident so we can save up for other things we need now. We plan on inspecting a lot more houses as well so we can know what we’re doing when we actually are house shopping. Anyways, after inspecting the house, Daniel had breakfast and then we went out. There was a phone store, Crazy John’s, having a warehouse sale with plenty of awesome mobile phones for really cheap. We didn’t get there early enough for the great deals, though. After that we went through a few op shops, and even looked at some bike stores so I could show Daniel “Claus” the kind of bike I want. We did some grocery shopping for the family as well. It felt so grown up… and like we were doing it for ourselves. Like… we actually were living on our own and doing things for ourselves. I love that feeling :) I guess I should appreciate it while it lasts. […]

Week 19 – Two year anniversary!!

The teddy Ciera got as a two year anniversary present!

Another incredible week in the lives of Daniel and Ciera! This week was quite special for us, since it was our two year anniversary :D! On Monday, Ciera wanted to make some delicious cake, so after work, we both went together to the supermarket and bought some delicious chocolate cake mix. We also got some carbonara pasta sauce and some ravioli to go with it (can you tell that we love our Italian food? Haha :D). Pasta is delicious. Tuesday was the Melbourne Cup, so we both had a day off. I’m not entirely sure why the Melbourne Cup is a public holiday since it’s pretty much just a horse race, but whatever. It’s a holiday, so I’m not complaining ๐Ÿ˜€

On Thursday, I started work early again (as I’ve mentioned in the past). Normally the early days are Wednesdays, but since Tuesday was a public holiday, the early day got moved to Thursday. In any case, this meant getting up really early, and finishing work earlier than normal. I was going to meet Ciera after work in the city, but she had to bring Louie (our cat) to the vet for another immunisation at the same time as I finished work. So, we ended up just meeting at home. It was still great to get home early and get a little bit of extra time with Ciera (since she’s so amazing!) :).

Friday was our special day, our two year anniversary! […]

Week 18 together!

We both have beautiful blue eyes :)

Get ready for a long post! A lot happened with us this week.

Monday was mostly a normal day. Daniel and I had work in the morning so we were both out of the house. When I got home from work (around 2:30 pm, I think), Daniel’s mum informed me that Louie had been missing since 12:30 pm. This is where the day became… not so normal. I was pretty calm about for the first hour or so but the longer he was gone, the more emotions I felt. I started getting really worried (about Louie) and annoyed (with Daniel’s mum). Louie’s last owner let us know that he gets stuck in trees so I walked around the neighbourhood looking in all the trees. We didn’t have any luck finding him during the day so when Daniel got home, we posted a lost cat article on a website called petfinders (he’s now on the “successes” page :D). ย That night was really hard for me. I cried all night because I was so worried. :(

Tuesday was a whole lot better! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I had work in the morning again but when I got home, I printed off some lost cat posters and taped them up around the area. While I was doing that I also kept looking around for him. I also called the lost dogs home just in case someone took him there. They hadn’t seen him but they told me to come past in a few days if he doesn’t come home. Luckily, he did! […]
