Daniel and Ciera

As you can tell by the title, this week was the actual half-way point. We were counting months by four weeks but, since a year has 52 weeks, we messed it up a little. 26 weeks = half a year… blahblahblah. You get the point!

On Tuesday of this week, the business Daniel works at (PageUp People) had a Christmas party. His manager insisted that he go and even offered to pay for me to join. We accepted the offer and ended up having a great time! It was held at Richmond Union Bowling Club, a place to play lawn bowls. The party started with drinks and food (mostly BBQ). It later moved out to the lawn where we bowled… simple enough xD. It was great to meet all the people Daniel works with. I know some people were excited to meet me, too.

Nothing else happened during thing week until Friday. I got some bad news that day and Daniel got to get off work early!  I got a text during the day from work. They were informing me and my coworkers that there wouldn’t be any available shifts until AFTER 31 January. The break was originally supposed to be two weeks. [...]

The past 6 months have gone by sooooo quickly! Daniel and I don’t really pay attention to what week or month it is until we start working on these posts, so we got really excited when I realized it’s been 6 months!! It’s hard to believe in another half a year, we’ll be on our way to America.

Anyways, This week has been like all the others… for Daniel at least. He’s been very focused on work and getting his presentation done (due this Thursday). He also has a two week project that he’s busy doing at the same time. Busy, busy man. Work for me this week SUCKED. It’s been the past few weeks, actually. I’m really getting tired of the company I’m with but I’m going to stick with them until I HAVE to quit. They’ve been taking shifts away the day before I do them and switching the times from what I’m used to. It’s just getting annoying. I plan on finding a nice data entry or filing job very soon!

Daniel and I met up only a few times during the week. Tuesday, Daniel met me after work at a train station in one of the inner suburbs (Camberwell). Thursday, I met him after work. I believe we took some extra time to get home, probably looking for bike helmets both times. On Friday, I was supposed to work but they called me on Thursday saying my shift wasn’t supposed to exist and then hung up… *ANGRY FACE*. [...]

Saturday was probably the best day for us this week. The rest of the week was normal except for a couple of bad days I had.

The week seems to be all jumbled up in my brain so I won’t go by day; I’ll go by what I remember happening. The start of the week wasn’t fun for me. On Tuesday I lost my phone while heading to work so I had to turn around and look for it. Of course this made me a tiny bit late (5 mins) during the week they were checking on punctuality. After that day I decided I needed to have a day off to get things done and avoid any other bad luck. When I tried to call in, the house phone was out of credit. Such bad luck with phones! Anyways, I got that fixed and called in. Then I went out to meet up with Daniel for lunch. We had a good lunch, of course. Then I went home to wait for Daniel. We decided to meet up at Northcote Plaza to grab some things I needed. After we got home from that, it was just a few minutes until I had to get shifts for next week. I only managed to get 3 .

Daniel and I have been feeling sick this week. It’s an off and on thing but still no fun. Since I’m allergic to everything, I blame my sickness on things in the air. Daniel hasn’t been tested for allergies but I still blame allergens for his sickness as well .

Get ready for a long post! A lot happened with us this week.

Monday was mostly a normal day. Daniel and I had work in the morning so we were both out of the house. When I got home from work (around 2:30 pm, I think), Daniel’s mum informed me that Louie had been missing since 12:30 pm. This is where the day became… not so normal. I was pretty calm about for the first hour or so but the longer he was gone, the more emotions I felt. I started getting really worried (about Louie) and annoyed (with Daniel’s mum). Louie’s last owner let us know that he gets stuck in trees so I walked around the neighbourhood looking in all the trees. We didn’t have any luck finding him during the day so when Daniel got home, we posted a lost cat article on a website called petfinders (he’s now on the “successes” page ).  That night was really hard for me. I cried all night because I was so worried.

Tuesday was a whole lot better! I had work in the morning again but when I got home, I printed off some lost cat posters and taped them up around the area. While I was doing that I also kept looking around for him. I also called the lost dogs home just in case someone took him there. They hadn’t seen him but they told me to come past in a few days if he doesn’t come home. Luckily, he did! [...]

This week was pretty good! Ciera had six shifts for work this week, which is the most she’s ever had! She was exhausted by the end of the week, and so was I (but then again, I always am). We relaxed a lot during the weekend, which is something we both needed… I always seem to work so hard .

On Tuesday, Ciera worked two different shifts. Both were in the CBD, so I got to see her for both lunch and after work! It was great. Seeing her after work means I get to spend even more time with her than usual! . On Friday, I met Ciera after work, and we both went to Melbourne Central to meet up with a few of my friends from university. It was pretty much a little get-together. We had had one a few weeks ago as well, but Ciera didn’t want to come along to that one. This time, she did, and we all went to have dinner somewhere at Melbourne Central. I ate a delicious chicken parma, and Ciera had some (also delicious) penne with meatballs. My friends had some alcoholic drinks, but since Ciera and I don’t drink alcohol, we decided on some other drinks. Ciera had a strawberry smoothie and I had a Coca Cola. All in all, the night was pretty good

Saturday was pretty awesome. We had a rather lazy day, but remembered that Sonic The Hedgehog 4 had been released! We went onto Wiiware on our Wii, paid for and downloaded the game, and tried it out. It’s pretty awesome! Not as good as the older Sonic games though. We ended up just spending the day playing it as well as the older Sonic games, in emulators. Today’s Sunday, which has been a pretty lazy day too. We played some more games, and at the moment, I’m writing this blog post while Ciera plays yet more games xD. We were going to look more into the Partner Visa stuff, but haven’t done that yet. We’ll have to eventually though. It’ll be kinda fun.

It’s been another week! This week has been one of the less active ones, though. Daniel and I really didn’t do much during the week except work and being lazy. We did manage to get some important things done and enjoy time with each other.

On Wednesday, Louie had to go to the vet. It was time for him to get vaccines, microchipped and desexed. I took the day off so I’d be able to transport him to and from the vet. That probably wasn’t the best idea. The whole day I was so worried about Louie and I didn’t have Daniel to cheer me up because he was busy at work! Louie ended up having a great visit and was acting like himself as soon as we got him home!

We had a semi-laid back weekend. On Saturday, we spent the first half of the day just laying around and exploring the internets. The second half was spent on a trip to IKEA and K-Mart for some clothes racks so we could [...]

Wow, the time goes so quickly when you’re having lots of fun! It’s week 11 already . This week was pretty good. Ciera was having some issues at work, with payroll not recording her bank details correctly. She got that fixed this week and finally got paid for the first time on Wednesday. I think it’s pretty good that she’s finally made some money of her own here in Australia. She went shopping on Friday and spent some of the money buying some new awesome stuff.

Saturday, we weren’t entirely sure what to do. Ciera thought that I needed new shoes… They’re old and broken and have holes in them but I still liked them . Anyways, we ended up going to DFO at South Wharf (near Docklands) to try and find some shoes. The directions the Metlink site gave us were kinda wrong and we ended up getting lost for a bit. Lucky for us, I had Google Maps installed on my phone, and we checked that to find some proper directions. We finally found the place, and now I have new shiny shoes. I’m still kinda incredibly jealous of the shoes with flashing lights that kids have – I wish they made adult versions of those! .  [...]

This week really wasn’t too eventful for us. Daniel worked all week and I was home all week until Thursday when I saw Daniel for lunch.

As mentioned in the title, I had my first day of work this Friday. All week I was dealing with first day jitters and all the anxiety piled up. Thursday night ended up being a bad night for both of us. I was feeling really homesick and wanting the comfort of the bed I was so used to just a couple months back. While explaining it to Daniel, we both started crying. I hate seeing him cry… He loves me so much and was worried I wanted to go home and leave him here alone, again. I would never, ever do that unless I absolutely had to. For instance, my visa expires and he can’t leave with me. I just wanted to share a bad moment we’ve had. Our relationship isn’t perfect but we deal with things because we are determined to be together forever.

The first day of work was nothing to worry about, but I can’t help to get the jitters . I had to wake up at 4:30 am to get to Melb. Central Train Station (where I worked) by 6:30. I wasn’t able to sleep that night but somehow managed to stay awake through the shift and the rest of the day. [...]

For some reason I’m just really not wanting to blog this week. Yet, I push myself to post one on here to keep people updated. Don’t be surprised if this post is shorter than most…\

Today was mostly a relaxing day for us. We managed to beat Mario Galaxy with Mario and opened up the ‘secret’ character. (SPOILER ALERT: It’s Luigi…). Now we must beat the whole game again while playing as that character and hopefully a new world, or something, will appear. Also, we need one more star in Mario Galaxy 2 so a new level will open. Besides that, we haven’t done much. Daniel has been working on an old computer today and I’ve been trying to stay happy and write some posts. Oh, and I’m hoping to accomplish all the goals I’ve set for today!

We saw Inception yesterday. I think I may give a ‘review’ of the movie on my site. My plan is to keep this blog strictly about us. Jacinta joined as so Daniel and her could spend some sibling time together. I know they’ve both been missing each other so I made sure we all did something together this weekend. We had a fun time while we were out that day. Before the movie, Daniel and I went to MSY (a computer parts store here, it’s awesome!) to get a nice, new keyboard and mouse for me and a hard drive for him. He’s setting up an old computer as a server, I believe, so we can use off peak downloading time, and such. [...]
